Dr. Anna Esparham

In this week’s episode, I’m talking to a special guest, Steve Bisson.

I bet you didn’t know that exercise, therapy and  healing go hand and hand?

It’s true! I didn’t know this either, but when you allow exercise to help in the healing process, you will be amazed at how much easier it is to tackle the day and to process all the emotions that can surface.

Because let’s be honest, no one wants to feel worse but when you are grieving, it can be extremely helpful in moving your body.

If running a half marathon isn’t your thing… find what is and allow movement and being physically active to aid in your healing.

Remember, YOU ARE LOVED!

If you are experiencing a suicide crisis and need help now! Call or Text the Suicide Lifeline 988. For more about this new hotline number go to this link: 988lifeline.org

Love Notes

  • The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference.
  • We always make mistakes. And it’s not the mistake that defines us.
  • Sport is considered a healing factor. It can bring us a lot of good stuff.
  • Some of the best coaches and the best people who teach sports are people who weren’t that talented physically, but they knew how to play the sport because they had to compensate someone.
  • Mindfulness is not emptying your mind as most people believe. It’s really observing the thoughts that come up.
  • The six basic emotions are: (anger, sadness, fear, happy, surprise, and disgust)
  • Suicide brings fear and not only fear but anger also.
  • Have compassion for yourself.
